Just in time for the new year (or not depending on where you live) here are the contest results!!!
Now just in case you're wondering how I was able to judge photography against literature against digital against photomanips, just think of dog shows. They don't judge the dachshund against the Irish Wolfhound or the Saluki or the Sloughi (don't think the AKC recognizes those..) but instead against a breed standard, or in this case a combination of the standard for their media, but more importantly how they portrayed each individual song.
Let's build up suspense and start with the other categories.
Most Unique
Fish photography...You don't see that everyday. And this photo in particular went well with some parts of going under, which was the song that they were attempting to portray here.
Congrats to

Most Artistic
Unbelievable what people can do with some stock photos and photoshop sometimes. This very simple yet striking piece fit very well into the mood of the part of Imaginary it was trying to portray.

Best Interpretation of a non-mainstream song
That's a long title for an award. Anyway, this entry chose the song Missing to inspire their work and the story of the wolf being rejected by her own mate and leaving her pack for another not only fufilled the initial mood of the song but did a very good job relating the story to the song as well.

Best Anthro
These days you hear anthro and you think of a animal standing on two legs like a human and wearing clothes, and that's what I was thinking off too just to make the contest fair to those who drew anthro. However, as you can see, no one entered an "anthro" entry so for this category I went back to the original meaning of the word,
"Anthropomorphism is the attribution of uniquely human characteristics to non-human creatures and beings, natural and supernatural phenomena, material states and objects or abstract concepts. Subjects for anthropomorphism commonly include animals and plants depicted as creatures with human motivation able to reason and converse, forces of nature such as winds or the sun, components in games, unseen or unknown sources of chance, etc."Sooo. using this I went for the entries that showed this i.e. all of them.

. Although there were some that took the emotions of animals and set them is a pseudo-realistic natural environment and played out. Yes its another lit entry.

Now we get to the good stuff

Runner-Up
This one gave me the most trouble as there were two entries that really had it out in jockeying for this spot (and I ask myself why don't we have a second runner-up) Finally...finally I found one that would take the cake once and for all and become our runner up.
drumroll
The suspense is building...keep scrolling

Okay. I couldn't really decide (I'm really an indecisive person in real life so the fact that anyone got in a category is a miracle in itself). They both deserve this so much, so they'll both get a runner-up prize = more work for me...*sigh* Anyway, The contrast with the light and shadows really set up the mood and scene very well as well as the one horse's hesitant pose
Yay for

with

The other entry captured the mood as well as the feeling of being locked within a bad relationship.
Yay two for

with

but there still can only be one...
GRAND PRIZE WINNER!!!!!!
Although the initial impression of the picture seems to cover just the simple basis that the title of the song implies, a deeper look at the picture shows that (whilst listening to the song again and again) the picture has may of the elements from the song as well as portrays the mood and deeper meaning of the song quite well.
Hooray for

If anyone wants further explantation as to why they did or did not win something ask or note me! I don't bite

M'kay. Now that I have your attention..
those that didn't win anything, will still get something. A headshot of their character on a white background. So you need to contact me too. Here is a prize list reminder...

Remember that before you ask for me to draw something. Also I lost my tablet pen, so if you don't want to wait until I get a new one, then anything that says digital and only digital is now offered with the option to have it drawn in traditional as well. Also all of these prizes have full backgrounds except the avatars and sketch pages, in case you were wondering. Note or comment what you want.

- A three month journal feature

They are one of the most intelligent animals on the planet and one of the most mythical. I have many books on Raven lore and legend. I've also had many close encounters with them here in the Southwest.
I used to go to a hilltop and watch a group of them hold morning/evening court. The leader is usually on the highest branch. One time I gave them all shiny quarters and many of them held them up to the sun in their beaks showing them off in the light.
